Visa For A Baby

Featured Replies

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help. I work in Bangkok & live here with my family - I'm on a Non O Immigrant visa. Recently we just had a baby girl out here - who has a brand new British passport - but no Thai visa.

We will be going to Cambodia on Monday for a short break & I've been advised that we will have visa problems, in that my daughter will only get a 30 day visa, upon on our return to Bangkok.

I've read that you can get a 60 day tourist visa - do you know what the application procedure is at the embassy in Phnom Penh How long it would take ? 60 days would be OK - because we then go out of the country before the end of that.

I don't fancy doing a visa run with a 3 month old !!

Thanks,

JK

Worry not. Take the bubs with you and accept the 30 day on arrival for the little lady. Then....forget it....a baby is ignored for overstay by Immigration until said baby reaches 7 years of age. No fines ....no nothing. :o

Thanks Doc,

I'd got similar advice from a friend as well. He suggested putting a copy of her Thai birth certificate in her passport as well.

Cheers, JK

Good idea...go for it. A bub on a visa run would be painful :o
