You need a work permit to legally work here. If you are merely visiting trade fairs, markets or factories, I wouldn't bother about it, but if you'll have some kind of operation running here (staff, office) it might be a good idea to do it properly.

The Company sponsoring the WP needs to be capitalized by 2M for the WP, unless you're married to a Thai, in which case one 1M is required.

If you do not need to invoice here you can open a Represetative Office instead of a company. I am not sure about the proceudre, but it does involve showing solid records of the offshore company.
