March 6, 201313 yr Hi, i bought a Samsung phone from the Samsung shop in the Market Village in Hua Hin. I was told that i can use it in the UK. I also bought a True Move sim and put credit on thinknig that i could call Thailand using the cheap rates when i got back home. Having turned the phone on now i am back, it comes up emergency calls only. does anyone know what i need to do other than have the phone unlocked here in the UK? Pointless buying it to be honest!
March 8, 201313 yr Have you set it to automatically scan for a network? It might be trying to attach to the one that it knows and giving up.
March 8, 201313 yr Maybe you haven't enabled international roaming? Anyways cheaper to buy a local SIM and use that.
March 8, 201313 yr So you bought a prepaid True Move sim and you thought you could use it in the UK and call Thailand at, let me get a wild guess, 1 Baht a minute ? Sure you can, but you can only top up the card in the flying pig shop in Blighty.
