Let's Play Doctor With My Health, No Worries

This might be a little comical, so feel free to laugh at parts of my misfortune.

I've been in CM for 4 months. I ride my bike about 12 hours a week, every single week. I study thai, and I might know 40 words. lol.

1. for some dumb reason last week I decided to bike with flip flops to get a haircut......coming back, wrecked in the turn-around. pedal hits left foot, nice bleeding. slight swelling. other little scraps.

2. that night I have like water/white stuff in my chest/lungs area (not sure). lasts one night. was it from pollution, bad water, not sure. for a few days after I wore a facemask. has not happened since, but it was weird.

3. exhausted. lots of sleeping. 1 hour during the day. 8 at night. ok, not crazy. but I feel fatigued.

4. appetite gone. slightly coming back last few days.

5. fever, then gone. I took some medication, drank ginger tea, tried to hydrate.

today I biked off the road on doi suthep into the drainage ditch. lol. I was a little dizzy. I can average 30+ mph coming down....luckily this was right after I started riding again. I've ridden that road 100 times, really. today made me wonder if things are getting bad.

my question. It's been about 8 days. foot is 85%, appetite coming back, no more fever, still a little tired but I can ride. I rode 3 hours, 30 minutes yesterday and walked at night. I now eat 3 meals a day and sleep 9 hours a day. but i'm not 100%

thoughts?

I know, I know.....will take 2 days off from exercise, will let the body heal more.

Its obvious. You did not mention drinking one time in that post. Your body is rebelling against the lack of booze. Your blood alcohol content has reach dangerously low levels. Drink more Sangsom!!

Sangsom is a cure-all.

Cures fits, warts, freckles

Coughs, colds, runny nose

Guarantees not to rip, run or snag

Makes conception a wonder

And child birth a pleasure

That's Sangsom, it makes you feel so good!

Hope this helps!

You sound like me in my younger days.

Bullets could bounce off me. As I aged I realized that bullets would not bounce off me and I started to see a doctor. As time passed I made it a part of my regular. A doctor I could trust implicitly. If I need a specialist she sends me to see one.

Moral of the story watch your self now and it will make life easier when you get older.

See A doctor.

LOL. You guys are funny, which is all good......

Let's start with ONE QUESTION first....

What was the white/clearish stuff in my lungs? From pollution? bad water?

tell us what you snuffed and we'll tell what the stuff was.

I see that you are new to the forum. That or a retread under an alias. LOL

You are the doctor on the spot you tell us what it is. Did you inhale it or ingest it?

In the mean time take two aspirin and call us in the morning.smile.png

First time posting, new user. I was in CM 3-years ago and I thought after the water festival (songkran) I got sick and there was also white liquid in my lungs. But after a bike accident, it just seemed odd and more than just a coincidence. Yes, I do worry about infection, but no discoloration and I can apply good pressure on the foot with very little pain.

Just wondering if people had this after bad smoke/pollution in the air, or after drinking bad water or exposure to bad water. That moat isn't exactly a mountain stream running off the mountain tops of the alps. lol.

ok, ok.....if I'm still worried by Sunday i'll go see someone.

definitely some witty responses......I've enjoyed them. it's just weird to not be 100% after like 8 days.....yea, getting older.

what happened to the days of fixing all problems by drinking milk, eating 5 Big Macs, and watching episodes of The Jerry Springer show. lol.

I'd say that's mucus. For your sake, hopefully your own.

from your post, you seems unclear and very little details are given.

im suspecting the fever, leg injury, exhaustion and poor appetite are all hallucinations from a head injury occurred during the accident.

i would suggest a full body xray and mri scan and being placed immediately under a observation ward

Very sensible suggestion there....and should be followed up by the Op

I was all for amputation at the neck for curing the clearish stuff in the lungs. I'm pretty sure that it will solve your other issues as well. Give it a go and then post an update.

pretty common complaints for athletes for this time of year.

Be a good detective

are you still dehydrated? complexion more pale? dark circles around eyes? changes in urine color?

for infection are any lymph nodes enlarged?

Changes in appearance of tongue? changes in flexibility?

The heat and pollution makes me back off exercise and presents mystery symptoms.

Consider yourself advanced if you even notice small changes. A lot of human robots walk around oblivious to their own health signs.

The dizziness can be common with heat stroke/exhaustion

Do the basics, cut down on salt, increase liquids, go swimming, get a massage, avoid the heat with A/C. Eliminate alcohol etc.

Give it a little time to recover and adjust to the conditions.

As a follow up to little Eek's post--a good friend of mine, riding his bike, got blind-sided by a dog--dog ran off yelping, my friend got a bad bruise on his leg--followed a couple of days later by swelling of the leg to double size--tropical ulcer next, and very close to Gangrene--all within a week--he, too, nearly lost his leg.

Poor sod survived, even after a spell in Wachira Government Hospital, only to be killed by a car driver 6 months later.

Sad tale--but totally true.

I think my foot is fine. I could run today across a few roads, no issues. swelling is 95% reduced. appetite coming back. weight was 154 lbs. ah, that's not a crazy concern.

Yes to heat issues. I wore arm warmers instead of sunscreen, and that could have made me warmer and the lack of sugar (I like some sugar) might have had me dizzy. I bought lots of water for tonight....will force the hydration.

the mucus thing is what worried me the most. and just all of it happening at once.....i'm 99% positive I didn't hit my head. I've wrecked tons of the bike and I think I would know if I did.

2 days of total rest now....lots of water. will run the AC to keep the core temperature lower. and if not better, doctor here we come.

biking is soo dangerous here, but I love it and I've already put in thousands of miles here. all worth it. in fact, it's dangerous everywhere.

sorry about your friend.

You can get some nasty stuff in your lungs on the wrong day and cough it up the next.

The air this year is unpredicatable, last year it was all smoke all the time during the smoky season (now). Particulate matter was through the roof.

Could be coincidence; combo of dehydration (we're all dry) together with mild shock when you got whacked on the foot.

Btw, I can average 30+ mph going up. wink.png

Drink boiled barley water, h2o, isotonic drinks to replenish fluids. Never heard of ginger tea is good for fever.

Phelgm coughed out is better than stubborn phelgm which can only be cleared with antibiotics.

You should consider a jab for tetanus, your foot injury.

See a doc asap and wish you a speedy recovery:)
