Wifi Hotspot Adaptor

Featured Replies

In the US they have these mini wifi hotspot adaptors you plug into your computer and your 3g connection becomes a mini wifi hotspot in your home for a certain number of other computers.

Is there anything in thailand that is available for purchase that is similar?

Any 3G dongle can be shared in the home with Internet Connection Sharing. AFAIK True, DTAC, etc. sell them with a data contract.

really? how do you do this? im trying to get my cellphone to use the 3g on my dongle via wifi.

thanks

I bought a ZTE MF 30 MiFi and had a lot of problems with it disconnecting and sometimes just shutting down. I bought an air card, another ZTE product because that's the only brand I could find. It too stinks. I wouldn't recommend ZTE products at all.

I finally bought a Huawei MiFi from the True office. It's not a three band but works great with Truemove-H and My CAT.

A 3G dongle is like a flash drive with a SIM card in it. It's usually called Mobile Broadband.

You can do the same with a mobile phone if it supports Tethering or Wifi Hotspot (it's a feature in Android 4.x and - I think - IOS5+).

Chews through the battery though, and phone 3G is normally limited to a couple of Gb or so.
