Activation Call Overcharge?

Featured Replies

I just called to activate a credit card, number was 02 888.....

I could not understand and decided to hang up and try later, and noticed it charged me 34 baht for a 1:00 minute call. 1 dollar a minute? What gives. I use DTAC. Can I just activate in one of the bank branches. I'll give that a try in any case.

Three point four (3.4) baht seems more in line with a 1 minute call, assuming it was actually 1:01 so really a two minute call.

What plan/SIM/promotion do you have with DTAC? Are you in Thailand? How do you know you were charged 34 baht? Are you eprhaps also using mobile data, which might reduce your balance?

More details, rather than none, may help identify your issue(s)?

I was charged 34 baht for 1 minute. I know because I put 60 baht on and looked at balance before and after call and had ~24 baht after, 60 and some satang before. I am in Thailand. I have the plan where you get 43 days activation every call I make, I forget the name. Normally my calls cost very little. I never, ever use the phone for anything but calling, which is rare in itself. Thanks for any help. I will go in to the bank and I'm sure they will just tell me to call.... I'm not sure why they can't handle it themselves, but maybe they will. I'll ask them if I can call from their phone if they do.

I think I figured this out, *somebody* smile.png used my phone and got credit of about 20 or so baht extended to them after zeroing out my balance (so I am told). So, when I put on 60 baht, it must have deducted that 20 or so baht right after my first call. I didn't even know you could do that, so there inlay the problem in my understanding. More than welcome to delete this thread of course. Thanks.

Kong Kra Pun (Everlasting), with this plan you pay 1.07 baht/minute for voice calls to any network.

You can register for Happy eServices, which allows you to manage your account on-line. You can view any/all call detail records, account activity, etc.
