For me one of my favourite bars in the world is LA cafe in Manila.

I also love Ipanema bar in orchid towers.

There is an awesome bar in shangri la hotel in Surabaya which I go to regularly. Its called desperados.

Fave spots over the years - Clark Quay in Singapore, Shekou(China), Haarlem(Netherlands), Taichung in Taiwan also surprised me by being a lot of fun and great locals.

But After 6 weeks in Saudi I'm always really pleased to get a pint anywhere! Even that scabby pub upstairs in Bahrain airport! Doing an extended swing this time..... Roll on April 30th!!

Sent from my iPad-mini.

Had some good times in Diggers - Bahrain.

Ally Pally (Al Ain Palace Hotel) in Abu Dhabi used to be a favorite as well.

If you're impressed by Taichung, you should check out Kaoshuing,s Wufu Lu for once, that,s way better. You get there within an hour or so with their high speed train.

Also agree about Desperado's in the basement of the Shangri La, Surabaya. I just found the 'morning after' pictures...

I always thought that "scabby pub" in Bahrain was a little spot of heaven after not only the usual 6 weeks in the land of Saud, but on a Indian lay barge as well
