Vuisa Expiration And Ranong Visa Run

Featured Replies

HI,

I am 30, holding british passport with a 2 month tourist visa, can someeone please clarify something for me. the visa stamp says i am allowed to stay in thailand until 13th march, now my question is, is that do i have to exit the country on the 13th or the 12th? so as to avoid overstaying?

my second question is has anyone done the ranong visa run recently? can they give me a brief idea of costing and process?

thanks

Paul

Most people seem to feel the 13th is fine but I read the language (until) as meaning before the 13th and would leave on the 12th to be sure. But I am very conservative in this regard.

The price vary from 999 baht by Minibus (exclude 5USD to be paid to Burmese authorities) to 1500 baht with a big bus (including all expenses), it is honestly long time I don't take that trip but as long as I remember, if the company doing this Visa Run goes through the Ranong main Immigration office you can go there on the 13th, if you go with companies sending you to the Andaman Hotel set in Burma territory, you have to go there 3 days before the date stamped on your passport, in fact you will be check by immigration officers directly at the Pier.

If you omit to do so you'll be fined, not for overstay but for other reason that I honestly don't remember.

PS: what i said above is just for people with simple entry stamp, possibly also for people holding a tourist Visa.
