Songkran

Featured Replies

Do any of you locals have any insights on when Krabi area will celebrate Songkran this year? What are the Songkran dates for Krabi? I went though Songkran once in Pattaya and they do it for one entire week which is too much. Just too messy to go out during the day, can't walk to the mall, or to lunch, or pretty much do anything without getting doused with water of questionable quality. I may be arriving in Krabi April 16, 2013.

Thanks,

GK

Usually only lasts 2 days in ao nang starting on the 13th shouldn't be anywhere near as crazy as pattaya.

Hmm. OK. I may chance it if I get my travels organized.

Starts on 13th, but being a Saturday ,it means that Mon-Wed 15th-17th are also holidays , so the mayhem may linger a while this year !

Krabi town is usually much more subdued than the madness witnessed in Ao Nang .....

for 2014, Am thinking of traveling to Krabi and then on to Koh Jam... what days does the water fights go on and therefore not good for travel. Some water fights are fine, but not when you are trying to get places with baggage etc....

Since the 13 th is Sunday would it start Friday until... or later?
