How To Get A Certificate Of Good Behavior From The Police In Thailand

Featured Replies

I'm returning to the UK soon and i'll need a certificate of 'good behavior' from the police in Thailand for a business venture in the UK. I've been here almost permanently for the past 4 years. Does anyone know how and where i apply for such a thing?

Any info gratefully received.

I don't need one but by googling " certificate of 'good behavior' from the police in Thailand" ...I nearly got one!!

Never heard of such a document but I'm sure you can buy 1 on the khosan road

I found this, hope it helps:

Applicants should apply in person at the Special Branch of the Royal Thai Police (see below). Thai nationals must submit the original and one self-certified copy of each of their passport, national identification card (if applicable), household registration (if applicable), marriage, divorce and name change certificates and military record (if any), plus a copy of the request for police clearance issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (if any), and two recent photographs. Foreign residents should submit the original and one self-certified copy of their passport, visa work permit or proof of employment, or proof of stay in Thailand, with two recent photographs.

Thanks for all the replies

You need a Thai police clearance.

Police HQ on Rama 1 Rd in BKK, right across from central world.

My wife needed one recently to update her Australian teaching license. Pretty straightforward and there are a helpful team of near retired coppers there who help fill out the froms. Took 2 or 3 weeks from memory for them to process. The cost is nominal.

They'll ask you for what country or countries you need it for, and it will be produced in English.

Just use your printer :-)

The proof that you have been living here legally is important. If you have been a visa cowboy working illegally they will know and you will not be processed.
