When they did finally decide on a made-up cover story for his resignation, is that the best they come up with? Something that doesn't make sense. "He's not healthy enough to continue as MP, but he's healthy enough to become district chief".... "He's not interested in the power that accompanies being a Member of Parliament, he'd rather be the Amphur Dog Catcher"... . . When Santa Claus resigned, why did he fail to notify the Election Commission? They didn't even know about it until yesterday, even though the resignation took effect 4 days ago. If they had been informed properly, the Election Commission would have already announced the by-election date. . I would imagine one of his kids would be groomed for the job afterwards if Mr T decides he prefers to run the country from Dubai. This is the start of the Thaksin dynasty so everyone in the family will be groomed in one way or another for a seamless handover no matter what happens . Before Yingluck's name was mentioned for PM, it was all about Thaksin's brother, Payup, becoming PTP's candidate for Prime Minister... but he was such a misfit, he was dropped and Yingluck was pulled out of her figure-head position at her brother's company, SC Asset, and thrust into politics. Payup, meanwhile, became a monk recently and as is typical of the Shinawatra Klan, still managed to stir up controversy. Seems he was unrealistically advanced to the position of Deputy Abbot at the temple he was at in an inordinately brief amount of time. . The real PM is being investigated by the NACC over allegations she lent 30 million baht to a company in which her common law husband, Anusorn Amornchat, was a shareholder. The NACC is looking at whether asset concealment was involved. . Perhaps she'll go with the "white lie" mitigating defense, that worked so well for her Finance Minister, as to how the US$ 1 Million ended up being transferred from her account to another. . The by-election will be held for Chiang Mai's constituency district three on April 21st.
