Good News For Long-Term Bangkok Residents

Since there's hardly any greater chance (little if any) chance that Thailand will effectively control the growth of private car usage compared to say L.A.. I think this piece claiming we're closer to the end of the era than to the beginning may be a positive sign for the sustainability of places like Bangkok.

Could be done today with high enough use-taxes combined with AI-controlled dynamically-routed minivans running around, fast any--to-any point door-to-door service to anywhere in the metro area.

But it would require logical politics where the public interest overrides inertia and corporate interests, and those places don't tend to have such extreme problems caused by "personal freedom".

AFAIC, any and all alternatives are a vast improvement on private automobiles. Communities designed around that archaic concept are IMO endangered, inherently unsustainable.
