Non-O Marriage Visa Renewal; Whens The Earliest And Latest I Can Do It.

Featured Replies

My non-o marriage visa is stamped to expire on June 10th.

First time renewing and hopefully renewing will not require me many trips to the immigration as much as first time which was 3-4 times.

What is the earliest and the latest date I can start the process of renewal?

I plan on leaving out of the country for a month or more starting in April. Hopefully I can come back a few days before June 10th or is that too late?

I would like to be overseas as long as I could before the whole renewal process begins.

Forgot to mention: I am a US citizen and I can obtain a 60 day tourist visa back home if that helps anything.

If you are asking about a 12 month extension of stay from Immigration, you can apply anytime within the final 30 days of your current permision to stay.

You can go in at the last minute as long as you have all of your paperwork in order but I'd go at least a few days early just in case. You will be given 30 days under consideration and will have to go back to get the rest of the year. If you are currently on an extension, don't forget to get a reentry permit before leaving Thailand. Cost 1000 baht.

Last year I had the same situation and applied two days before it expired.

The immigration officer looked at my passport and gave me three days permission to stay when I arrived at Swampy.

Don't forget your re-entry permit.

I'm not sure if I'm on extension but I have been here almost a year on "thai wife" visa which was last June.

Thanks for the reminder on "reentry permit"

Per your suggestions, I'll probably come a week before June 10th expiry date.

Thank you Lite beer, wayned and Poor sucker you guys are all an asset to visa forums!

Did you get your "Visa" from a Thai Consulate in another country or from Immigration in Thailand?

Why not get a 1 year non O visa in the US. Not sure where you are from but if you are near any of the consulates it is worth the trip. Very easy to get and you can extend it up to 15 months. Cheers

I got the non-o in Chaeng wattana office in bangkok.

I will be in Los Angeles, interesting as I never thought of getting the "thai wife" visa in LA....is it anymore difficult or same process?

Just remembered I have the 400k in thai bank, I am not sure if I can easily obtain a statement from the bank while I am in the states. Surely I would need this part of the mountains of paperwork.

You have a 12 month extension based on having a Thai Wife.

You have to report to Immigration every 90 days.

If you get a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa from LA you will have to leave Thailand every 90 days.
