I understand the difficulties of importing motor bikes, paying tariffs and getting them registered etc. This bike, a 125cc dirt bike cannot be registered and is only for off road use. Is it any easier to bring such a bike in or is it still better just to sell it in my country (Australia) and try and buy an equivalent bike once in Thailand?

Thanks, Alan

Basically, it doesn't really matter if you register or not register a motorcycle, if you not pay all the required import taxes and duties the revenue department can still confiscate the motorcycle from your private property or land...

And if you pay all import taxes and duties you probably pay more than buying a similar motorcycle in Thailand without the headache of importing one yourself...

Well you obviously won't have to deal with registering it and getting a green book, which is half the battle, but it's still probably going to be easier and cheaper to sell it and buy something here.
