Posting Products Via Thailand

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just looking into having some products posted from Thailand to Europe. Is the postal service reliable, is there any websites that gives info on postal costs (in english)

Also i have 2 methods in mind

1) Post products directly from Thailand to Europe as they are ordered.

2) Post the product in bulk to Ireland from Thailand and distribute them throughout Ireland and Europe as they are ordered.

Which would be the best method cost wise, i would be posting clothes & small ornaments btw.

also if i post the products directly from Thailand to the customer, will customs then charge the customer or can i pay this custom charge in advance to prevent this hassle for the customer??

btw i will have someone in Thailand looking after the purchasing and posting.

Cheers

Just found this website http://www.thai-info.net/info/postalrates.htm

which gives prices for airmail posting. Is this a good method to send small packages. Considering ill be sending one small item at a time 900 baht (20 euro) is exspensive. Does anyone know of any other services which are reasonably reliable but cheaper.

To send items via Ireland is dearer than this unless they are going to Ireland or the UK and there not a whole lot cheaper anyway so buying a container full and shipping wont save much costs if any. Ideally i would rather be a sort of dropshipper anyway so as not to have to buy lots of stock.

Try here:- http://www.thailandpost.com/search_ems_en.asp

for rates on items less than 1kg, much more sensible numbers :D

I've sent stuff to several European countries, always declared as 'gift or no commercial value' never any problems with customs.

NOTE. Do NOT use a courier service (DHL, FedEx etc) you will get lumbered with customs duties :o

Thanks for the link, does anyone know the timescale for these different services. I like the look of the Int'l small packet air, is there limitations on what you can send for these services eg small packet must be under a certain dimension or something.
