Petty Officer killed in early morning road crash in Sattahip

SATTAHIP:--A Navy Sailor was killed in an early morning road crash on the Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip District on Monday.

The crash involved a coach operated by the Thai-Scandic Steel Company who are based in Rayong Province and a motorbike driven by the victim, Petty Officer 3rd Class Serpong aged 21. He was lying on the road and although he was wearing a safety helmet, a piece of broken glass from the coach is thought to have severed his neck, causing instant blood loss and eventual death.

Police detained the coach driver, Khun Thanaporn aged 51 who confirmed he was initiating a u-turn manoeuvre
