Transfering Usd

Featured Replies

If I had some US dollars here in Thailand, would it be possible to transfer it as USD to the USA? I have never tried this, I am hoping to keep from getting bent over on the double conversion.

Thanks in advance to all

Only possible unless you have them in a USD account maintained in Thailand. If you have cash, then unfortunately you'll face a double conversion, wiping out around 1.3 % of your capital.

If you have usd then all you need to do is go to a bank etc. and send it in usd.

I have THB in Thai and live in UK. When I send home to UK I convert the THB to Gbp first so I get a much better conversion rate.

So, if you have usd it doesn't need converting and you can send the exact amount to your us account and just pay the fee to send.

The limit is $20,000 without bank if Thailand giving authorisation so if you have more than that and want to save hassle with forms etc. send it in batches of $20,000 each time.

Good luck
