I'm trying to convince my 87 yr old father to come over to CM to recover and hopefully stay and am trying to find a competent, professional live in caregiver who has had some schooling or experience. he is recovering from a broken hip but in a couple of months time, he should be able to walk with a cane or walker. would prefer someone who speaks some english. does anyone out there know of any caregiver courses or schools in the CM area?? or could refer me to someone who could meet my requirements?? good pay and living conditions offered by me and my Thai/American family

Do you have a school of nursing there? It may be worth contacting them to ask if any student nurses are on break during the time you want. I know that Assumption Uni here teach in English so hopefully language wouldn't be a barrier.

Juat a thought :o

From what I have seen of nurses in Thai hospital, public and private

I would not hold out much hope.

Very little sense of "caring" and poor English.

However you may get lucky, there are some great Thai people around.

I don't think we have been using the same hospital, I spend a week with a heart problem at the Phuket International hospital, the nurses were sweet and caring, and spoke a good english.

Perhaps I was just lucky, but the care was first class.

Wow, Astral, what Hospital.

I have been to a few hospitals in Thailand, and I was always amazed at the general attitude and caring of the Nurses.
