chrisartist Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I'm a UK citizen. I'm on a retirement visa and need to extend it in early May 2013. However, my passport expires in February 2014, which is less than the one-year duration of the extension. I've just realised this problem. There does not seem to be enough time to send documents to Hong Kong and get a new passport back before I need to go to Immigration to get the extension. Does anybody have any idea about what to do in this situation?
lopburi3 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Extend as normal to expiration date of current passport and when you get new passport present for transfer it will be transferred with full one year time. Remember any re-entry permit will only be valid until expiration date of passport/stamped permitted to stay date.
chrisartist Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 lopburi3, Thanks very much for the information. That's a relief!
