90 Day Reporting?

Featured Replies

hi is there a visa that does not require you to report every 90 days to immigration?

Sure --- Its called a tourist visa which gives you 60 days in country extendable at immigration for further 30 days --- you then have to leave the country !

If your looking for a visa which will allow you to spend more than 90 days in country which does not involve reporting your address to immigration every 90 days your going to be disappointed because such a visa , to my knowledge, does not exist !

The 90 day report is not really visa related. You report if you are here continuously for 90 days.

Most visa entries do not allow more than a 90 day stay. To stay longer you need to extend your permission to stay, and report every 90 days continuous here..

The pre approved long stay Type O-A is the only one with a longer entry than 90 days that comes to mind (not to say there are not others) but of course you still have to report if you are here for more than 90 days.

its a 2000THB fine if you don't report at all, so if its easier for you to pay 2000 baht a year, don't report.

If a foreigner staying in the kingdom over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or notifying the Immigration Bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000.- Baht will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000.- Baht.

Yes, Diplomatic Visa's don't require a 90 day report

thanks everyone ,I heard after I posted my question that a dependant visa allows to stay in Thailand for 1 year then renew again for a further year and so on.and not report every 90 days hence my question

That would be an extension of stay, not a visa.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

And an extension of stay requires reporting your address every 90 days, but at most immigration offices it can be done by mail.

If it is a visa then yes because they would have to leave every 90 days.

But for extensions of stay the immigration act of 1979 does not give any special privileges for diplomats 90 day reports.

Was here for four years on a Diplomatic Visa and I assure you that I, nor did anyone else assigned to the Embassy, had to do a 90 day report (and I don't know of anyone who could be here on a Diplomatic extension of stay)

Wouldn't diplomatic immunity mean you couldn't be fined anyway, whatever the rules are?
