Has there been any official statement from the American side? We only have the Thai version.

However if you read the article, this is only a reported apology by the US from General Prayuth Chan-ocha. For all we know, he could be spinning or simply making something up or bare-faced lying, the Army has made a habit of that recently.

So, no official apology from the American side. And probably not likely to be one, I would imagine.
