I have 2 x 1,100 lit plastic (nano) water storage tanks. These are to ensure a constant supply of water to the house as the village water is unreliable - it also allows me to treat and "settle" one tank whilst drawing from the other.

Can anyone advise me what's the norm for cleaning water storage tanks? Frequency, chemicals used (I guess some will react with the plastic?) etc

    I use a power washer, no chemicals, just lots of clean water (one of the reasons I always recommend above ground tanks)
