March 15, 200620 yr any way to get to Cuba from Thailand w/o having to go thru a country where thai g/f would need a visa?
March 15, 200620 yr Wow, that is a tough one...what would be the problem in obtaining a visa for, say, Russia and going? It isn't hard for Thai people to get such a visa, though of course you'd need one too...it's also a pretty straightforward connection: BKK-MSW-HAV. edit: That would of course be the cheapest option. Alternatively, you could connect thru Paris or London and transit in the airport, thus requiring no visa for the non-Schengen area, but at a severely higher ticket cost.
March 15, 200620 yr Author ticket cost I can deal with. other gateways to cuba are jamaica, dominican rep, bahamas, mexico canada but the last 2 are a no go Tokyo, LOL
March 15, 200620 yr The other Carribean countries would involve a much more complex route just to go there...you haven't made something clear: you actually want to visit another country on the way to Cuba? If not, France or England, transit thru the airport, simple as pie. If yes, how difficult would it be to obtain a Mexican visa for your TGF?
March 15, 200620 yr Author ok florin, so you are saying that we can transit in london with no visa needed for thai g/f? not going to other countries, only cuba
March 15, 200620 yr Double check with the British Embassy, because England has slightly different immigration rules compared to the rest of Europe, but to the best of my knowledge, yes, as long as you (or at least her) stay in the airport in London.
March 15, 200620 yr I am not so sure that London is ok, as flights arrive from BKK at Heathrow, but departing from Gatwick for Havana. (Virgin Atlantic and Cabana) I would check via CDG (Paris), Amsterdam or Madrid. As long as you stay in the same airport/transit area no need for a visa. Connecting times can be a couple of hours, depending on day of travel and airline(s).
March 15, 200620 yr For countries that Thais can go without visas, see also Q: Thai citizen - what countries can visit without visa before travel or you can search the IATA database which is publicly available on a number of websites. Click here or here or here to go to such websites. There is also information there about requirements for transit passengers. BTW, Thailand and Russia have signed a visa exemption pact.
