Hello,

I am looking for a decent thai criminal lawyer.

Im trying to help someone that is in the wrong but needs help anyway.

I have tried three lawyers now and each has been a disappointment to say the least. Please understand i have been in this part of the world for some time now so i dont need educating ...what i need is the name of a thai criminal lawyer that will actually focus on doing their job rather than extracting the maximum amount of money out of me.

Forgiver my sarcasm but this is unfortunately where I am.

Regards

You might find that's not Thailand specific, but unfortunately common everywhere. sad.png

Best of luck!

Decent lawyers are particularly difficult to find here in Thailand due to very little effective regulation or standards of behaviour - most of them are outright con artists regarding their abilities, and many active criminals themselves, and they will often not only cost you more money but end up causing a longer sentence than if you'd just thrown yourself on the mercy of the court and/or paid the required baksheesh.

It would be helpful if you posted your location of course. Note the good ones charge nearly as much as they do back home - my company in BKK paid USD $225/hour for a labour attorney, and that was nearly ten years ago.

Best of luck and my condolences for your troubles, even if they are self-inflicted.

I know a young Thai lawyer who i have never actually used. He goes to the same church in BKK that my sister went to. Nice guy but I cant attest to his abilities, if you want his info PM me and I will gladly provide it.

I used a Thai lawyer for custody of my child. He may not be the best, but he was sincere and helpful, and, more importantly he won the case. He may not be a criminal lawyer but I can say he was competent and truthful.
