Featured Replies

I am a little bit worried, my dochter has 2 passports.

We leaving to Holland by tomorrow, her Thai passport is expired within 2 1/2 months.

She have to sign out Thailand with her Thai passport, her flight ticket is on her Duch passport.

Do i need to worrie as some people told me that she need 6 months on her Thai passport to leave???

Please advice

She doesn't need to have six months remaining on her passport to leave Thailand, on her return journey she can actually enter on an expired passport.

In February 2013 my friends wife's have problem to leave from thailand because her Thai passport was going to expire after three months. When we go to check in counter the clerk told us that one Thai person's passport isn't valid to leave from Thailand. Then he start calling for the air company's supervisor, thay had no problem to take her on flight because she have permanent visa for her destination but after that we had to wait for immigration officer to come check all of our passports.

After long and intense debate and her promise to apply for a new passport as soon as she get back home, the immigration chief was so kind and let her leave from Thailand. Didn't have to pay anything...

It is quite funny but Thai's really do need passport which is valid for over six month when leaving from Thailand.

As said you do not need 6 months remaining on a Thai passport to leave Thailand, however a lot of countries require 6 months validity to enter a country (unless a citizen of that country).

In the op s case entry to the destination country would be made with a different passport so the problem would not arise.

As said the destination country had no problem to accept the passport and let this person to leave Thailand because the destination country don't have any requires for the lenght of passport validity on arrival.

As said only problem was with the Thai immigration.

As said I just tell what happened to us and what the immigration officer told us, I didn't speak anything about op's case. Because every case is different...

I stand corrected, will be interested to learn how the OP gets on.
