Teachers Face Jail Term For Thai Toddler's Death

Interesting link a previous poster put up about heatstroke death of children in cars in America.

http://www.ggweather.com/heat/

This part really caught my eye.

" In cases with paid caregivers (i.e., childcare workers, babysitters) 84% were charged and 96% convicted"

So it would appear in the US justice system, caregivers who leave children to die in cars receive the full brunt of the justice system. Will be interesting to see what Thailand does.

To "the hang them high brigade" here, at least get your facts right!

For crying out loud, it was a tragic accident, that could have happened anywhere in the world! Yes it was coursed by recklessness and stupidity, but with no intent. And as the teachers have been named and shamed, apart from having to live with the knowledge of coursing a childs death, what good does it do to throw them in jail?? Spoiling the lives of two more families.

@MaxLee. Your uneducated driver was one of the teachers!

Spare your indignation for the Red Bull heir or the young Ms na Ayutthaya.

Because this forum is full of wolves.

Spare your indignation for the Red Bull heir or the young Ms na Ayutthaya.

No doubt you both dined on vinegar battery acid and lime juice for lunch today hence your callous remarks following the needless death of this young girl.

As teachers we are ''in loco parentis) of our young charges and they are a priceless treasure to both their parents their teachers and their classmates too .

One can only but presume you are not parents nor teachers (nor I hope ever likely to be either) hence your lack of sensitivity concerning those parents and their loss.

.

The staff involved were totally inept in the performance of their duties nothing more nothing less. They deserve the attention of the legal system as plainly they were not educated nor concerned enough to actually carry out their duties in a professional fashion.

Not too difficult to count the children on as they board a school bus and note the numbers down on a clipboard so as to ensure the school accounts department don't miss any revenue, so it should be easy enough to count the children off as they leave the school bus to ensure the numbers tally.

Sadly we are all well aware many teachers within the education system are according to the Ministry of Education unqualified, therefore in this case one is led to wonder at the level of professionalism involved which in my view was and is minimal as the subsequent tragic event shows.

At our school there is a strict tally count and a thorough van search every day kids are notorious for losing things and yes sometimes the hide and even sleep hence the rigid checks,The result ?, No problems.

A little foresight and forward planning coupled with staff training regarding their responsibilities would have saved that little girls life.

Regarding the reference the Ferrari driving police killer and the young Ms na Ayutthaya, they bear no relevance to the loss of this young child's life and the to the total negligence of those who were supposed to be caring for her in the absence of her parents.

Well said. "People" like soi41 are the kind of wishy-washy liberals that are destroying the Western World. The kind of amoeba that would have allowed the killers of James Bulger go free back in Liverpool 1993. Let me point out a few facts for this dead-head:

Firstly, no-one on TV has behaved in a "hang 'em high" way, they just want justice to be done.

Secondly, NO this would not happen anywhere in the world. there are some countries where people do not have the intellectual capacity of a boiled potato. There are countries where proper safety checks are carried out. And even if it did happen elsewhere in the world, we are living in Thailand. Some of us have young children and this has put us on a knife-edge.

Next time soi41, THINK before you spout your PC claptrap!
