The new AMECS scheme seems to be 90 days for $20 to good to be true.

Could one just pop into the Khmer embassy Bangkok every 3 months and never leave?

I somehow doubt it.

Could one get one outside Siam and have 89 days in Thailand?

If it seems to be too good to be true... What they are saying ;

"The ACMECS Single Visa costs US$20 for a single entry and is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance, it added."

The visa will be valid for 90 days from the date it's issued. You must use it or lose it within 90 days.

Don't mistake that for the number of days you'll be allowed to stay once you use it.

The single visa must be applied for outside Cambodia/Thailand, as far as I know.

The visa gives 90 days, but that is 30 days in Cambodia and 60 days in Thailand. What is more, if you get the visa at a Cambodian consulate you still pay 1,000 baht for the entry into Thailand and if you get the visa from a Thai consulate, you still pay the visa fee for entry into Cambodia.

So all the visa does, is prevent you from having to apply at two consulates for a visa. Instead you only go to 1 consulate and simply pay at the border for the visa to the other country.

cheaper an easier to fly into Thailand and get ur free 30 day stamp than fly into Cambodia and pay $20 for ur 30 day visa

Plus i thought ( perhaps wrongly) that is NOT available in Asia but only outside the area.

AS i have a 1 year extension for Thailand and a 1 year Cambodian visa i am set.
