Stats Of Expats In Bangkok (Ari)

Featured Replies

Hi

Are there any statistics of how many expats live in different areas in Bangkok? Maybe even broken down in age, home country etc.?

I am specifically interested in knowing the detail about Ari, but general figures are also interesting.

Thanks a lot!

I think I can safely say that the answer is no. Have a look at this paper for some background: www.burning-bison.com/expats.htm

The official answer is indeed no.

There are certainly raw bits of data collected by various government entities that could be compiled into an "Expats by Nationality by District in Bangkok" dataset, but nobody does it. Examples would be raw data from enumeration districts collected during the decennial Census and aggregating raw data from the Department of Employment (Labor), who issues work permits.

To the OP - The DOE data that are published for Bangkok are probably the best information publicly available.

You could ask the Immigration office, they are the ones require to report every foreigner for various reasons whistling.gif
