Help To Id Flowers ...

Featured Replies

Hello,

we have visited Thailand and took several photos of various wildflowers and plants.
Some of them we were able to identify, but some not.

Would you have any suggestion on who to contact, who would be able to help us to identify the flowers, if we send them the photos?

I am attaching the photos here, too , in case you may know their names.

thank you very much for any help.

thank you very much

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry, we lost internet for a week and I forgot about your post.

First one is ดอกกระเจียว, Siam tulip. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siam_Tulip

And that's it, we couldn't make out the others, they probably don't grow in Isan, where my wife seems to know just about anything that grows. (especially if you can eat it)

appreciate it

I just returned from Thailand and see your photos. Well, for the moment I can only identify one more flower: the 4th one is Pedicularis siamensis, family Scrophulariaceae. In Thailand it is called ชมพูเชียงดาวใ

#6 ("green fruit") is Barringtonia asiatica.

Just identified #2, it's a Mycetia, family Rubiaceae.

Most identifications with the help of Thai friends...
