Ok guys for those in the know. We are applying for my wifes visa for Oz. I'm an Oz resident. I will be the sponsor. A few questions.

Question 11. When did you and your partner make a decision that you both:

. Wanted to commit to a long tem spouse or interpendent relationship or

intended to marry each other.

This might seem stupid question. But do i put the date that i proposed or what?

Question 12

Very similar

Question 42 About your dwelling

Since i live here and will be staying with friends for a while when we get there. Should i include a letter stating this?

I'm sure i will probably have more questions in the next few hours. But for now. Can some one advise of the above? Cheers in advance.

Q11....That would be a good date to put in....but really it could be anytime that you both committed to each other as in girlfriend/boyfriend.

Q12....Your wedding date would go here....you dont need to answer Q12 if you are applying for a fiance visa.

Q42.... Normally this would be the type of dwelling that you are currently in, in Oz...As you are outside of Oz then put in the type of dwelling that your friends live in.

We met on the 6th December 2003 . But i proposed the following October. We were then married officially the following February(ie. We signed the papers.) So can i put the week after we met. I mean its hard to say when you decided to be boyfriend/girlfriend. Surely when you go into a relationship and not a one night stand then you are making that commitment to be more than a one night stand. Input please!

Question.38 Are you an eligible NZ citizen?

Surely this would be no. But i know after being there with my residence for Oz. They told me i could live there. So not 100% sure on this.

Hey Jock, I had all the same questions floating through me head. This question is a bit grey. Basically sometime between meeting and marrying your wife you made the descision you wanted to commit your life to this girl. Choose a date between 6th Dec 03 - Oct 04. Maybe a bit longer than a week after you met might be a bit more realistic, unless of course you fell head over heals for her after a week. It's not impossible!

Are you from NZ? If your an Aussie then the answer is no. If your a Kiwi, and plan to bring your girl to OZ then tick yes. Kiwi's do have the right to move to OZ very freely.

Regards and good luck mate, might see you in the office soon! :o

The answers that you provide to the questions in all of the application forms, are regarded as the facts.

There is no space provided for explanatory notes.

It is in your covering letter of support that you can refer to a question and offer a better explanation of the situation.

Covering letters also provide an opportunity to introduce any other supporting information that has not been asked for in the application forms.

There are no size limitations for the covering letter.

Yes that is your Thailand address.....you will need to make an extra statement telling them how you intend to undertake your sponsorship...
