Samsung Software Updates Don't Work?

Wive got a new cheapo Samsung for 3000 Baht running on Android.

The shop loaded it full with Software for her.....

It asked for some confirmation for software update, which I did.

Than it gets to "registering device" and than "Registering failed"

inside is a dtac sim

it is connected to the wifi network

any ideas?

I found it is a GTS5360B

Android version 2.3.6

It looks like 2.3.6 is the latest/current version on Android software for this model. Not sure what to say about the registration issue? Maybe the server was overrun with requests, or maybe it doesn't recognize what might be a potentially 'custom' <La Fleur?>version?

Don't know if I should buy such a phone for myself.....

Seems there are custom roms for it, that are newer but most infos say: GT-S5360 without B......
