elektrified
I'd have to agree with John's Place but what's a "leaving drink"?

uptheos
I'd have to agree with John's Place but what's a "leaving drink"? It is an open area and as such there's a lot of smoking in close vicinity, which might bother some people. Other than that I think John's Place is a great location (especially if you have a 20% discount card). Edited April 29, 2013 by uptheos
jackr
Foxy Lady. Failing that, the Kafe (up Moon Muang a bit) is always good for a quiet beer:
WinnieTheKhwai
What time are you plannign for? Early evening? Later? Should there be food? John's place does have food but it seems a little hit and miss these days. Used to be very good. Do I understand correctly that you will be inviting friends? Mixed age/male/female I assume, or a pack of mongers?
daoyai
Darets is at Tha Pae, and if you you are are a frugal farong the beer is colder and cheaper than most places. Edited April 29, 2013 by daoyai

theblether
The Old Bell is well chilled but of your insisting on Thaepae Gate the food in the Blue Mango is fantastic, it's between Johns Place and Top North Hotel.
