Hi all !

The situation is the following : I would like to stay 6 months in LOS, so therefor i would get a triple 60 day tourist visa and make two visa runs, one after 2 months, one after 4 months.

The question : Since the first month I would have to leave and enter the country twice (1 short business trip + short trip to visit friends in neighbouring country), i would not want them to stamp and use two 2 month visas on the first two arrivals.

(I cannot reschedule those first two trips, they have to happen the first month)

does this mean my 3 60-day-visa's will be stamped the first month and i have to make monthly visa runs after that?

Is it possible NOT to use the 60 day tourist visa right away ?

-to ask the first two arrivals "just a 30 day tourist visa on arrival please"

This way i would be able to make my short trips the first month, and then use the 60day visa's after that.

Is there a rule, or would it depend on the mood of the customs officer ? (arriving via don muang each time)

thanks for your help !

The Dude has tried that and it don't worky. Immi will give you the 30 days and charge you an entry anyway. The Dude did not dig it but he dealt with it so you need to scrap shovels cause no can do and no can dig. Can you dig, san belgie?

Thanks 4 ur reply Dude

Ok so it seems there wont be much digging possible in that situation ...

So pay 3x60 and throw away the first two 60day visa and then get at least the third one right, and get to spend once 60 days then without being bothered by visa runs

If your live in a country that has an automatic 30 day upon arrival. Just tell the person at imigration that you would not like to use your 60 day Visa yet, because you are only going to be in the kingdom for a week or so.

They don't charge you coming in just going out.

Anybody else ever tried this ?

I have, a while back. It worked for me but I think the results of doing this may vary depending on the individual immigrations officer involved. It is not anything that they have to do for you.

If you get an un-cooperative immigration chap who insists on using one of your entries, you can get a re-entry permit at immigration or the airport before you leave on your business trip. That will protect your 60 day stamp.

When you re-enter after your trip your new 'allowed to remain' stamp will have the same date as your original entry stamp.
