lukeskywalker Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I bought a 7,000 THB OPPO phone about 6 months ago, but am now returning to the USA permanently. What to do with the OPPO phone? When I sign up for a new contract in the States, don't the plans come with phones? I don't know if my OPPO phone will be compatible with any plans in USA. If need to leave here, best way to sell? Sell to a shop? Thanks
lomatopo Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Can you share any details? exact model no., link to specs preferred carrier in the U.S. do you use mobile data in the U.S. AT&T and T-Mobile, along with a number of their MVNOs/resellers, offer GSM/SIM-based pre-paid/no contract services at much better rates than contract/subsidized phones. Your phone may work fine in the U.S. but we really need some details.
lukeskywalker Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 It is Oppo R8015: http://apsaramobile.com.kh/phones/oppo-r8015/ Adroid 2.3.6 (seems old?) I have no idea which carrier I will chose when I get to US.
lomatopo Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 do you use mobile data in the U.S. (Asked for the second time.) That phone would work with AT&T pre-paid/MVNO for voice and 2G data, 3G data (850 MHz) in some select markets, and on T-Mo/MVNOs for voice and 2G. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_mobile_virtual_network_operators
thaicbr Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 i would check wit Oppo to see if there has been an android update.
