Bardeh
Specifically, I'm looking for thermal paste to refit a part in my laptop. Banana IT and the other chain stores don't have it. Alternatively, if anyone knows of a knowledgeable and reputable person/business who could do it for me, that would be OK too. Cheers!

Bardeh
Great, thanks for that ThaidDown, I'll drive down there this afternoon and take a look. Google Maps isn't being that helpful with the location though - do you know roughly where it is in Wichit? EDIT: Oh, looks like it's in/near the Big C Supercenter? Bardeh
Well, I went down to Big C and tried Amorn. Unfortunately, they were useless. The shop was a complete mess and staffed by middle-aged women who had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I tried a few of the other little shops around the ground floor and nobody had any. I was about to write it off as a wasted journey, but tried JBB as a last ditch effort. I'd already been into another of their stores earlier today and they didn't have any, but the guy immediately clocked onto what I wanted, and gave me a little tube for free! Result! Bardeh
JBB= J.I.B. ? That's probably the one. Yellow lettering on a blue background. The stuff he gave me is Cooler Master brand, so a quality product. Only a tiny little tube, but that's all you need. I've applied it to the problem part and it's done the trick perfectly. I have a Cooler Master case - HAF932. Pretty good quality stuff.
Guest
Generally the middle aged, Chinese women are the only ones who get problems solved out in Thailand. They might not always know the products but they can make the young boys run to find one. J.I.B is one of my favorite IT shops here. They generally have a good service attitude and are willing to find the product which is needed. Banana IT.. well I might just trust them enough to ask where the toilet is located in the shopping center. I used them in the past as their prices were good at the time. But after getting misinformation and then stupid negotiation to return an product I learned that the nice yellow color worked as good warning sign. Peterocket
Not sure I would use them for thermal paste but good for most other things computer related: http://www.invadeit.co.th/search/paste/
Bardeh
Oilinki, generally I agree with you about the middle-aged Chinese women, but in Amorn yesterday she just gave me a blank stare and said 'No hab' and that was pretty much the end of it. Wasn't impressed! Edited May 13, 2013 by Bardeh
stevehaigh
there is an electronics place in town, Southern Dynatech, see http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/554114-another-where-to-find-topic-electronic-components/?hl=%2Bcomponents#entry5292362 Edited May 13, 2013 by stevehaigh
Satcommlee
This stuff is commonly used by all the computer repair places, we have it in our repair shop also. Why not try printing out a picture of what you want, It pointless trying to explain if you don't speak Thai.. works for me most times.
