Two arrested for Phuket assault, bike burning
Kanana Kaewsomboon

PHUKET: -- Two teenagers, one aged 18 and the other 19, were arrested yesterday morning (May 13) by Karon police for assault and setting fire to a motorbike in what was apparently a random act of senseless violence.

Pol Lt Sataporn Srinoon told The Phuket News that in the early hours of Sunday morning (May 12) a Burmese man named Too, aged 20, parked his Honda motorcycle at a 24-hour convenience store near Club Mediterranée in Kata.

Four teenagers on two motorcycles parked close by, punched Mr Too and and threatened him with a knife. When Mr Too ran away they knocked the motorcycle over and began kicking it to bits.

The victim looked back and saw that the four had set the bike on fire so he called a friend to come and take him away.

Police showed Mr Too photographs of teenage suspects and he identified two of them as being among his attackers.

The duo were charged with assault and conspiring with others to destroy personal property. One was also charged with carrying a gun in public.

Both denied the charges and were granted bail.

Granted bail as usual, sad!

Like they'll ever turn up to courtcheesy.gif

Makes me wonder if a bounty hunting business in thailand would ever be profitable? Or is it even legal?

They only seem to put rewards up for the big guys... Or do bounty hunters normally get paid by the courts?
