The British Embasey has an approved list of translators printed out you can get in the waiting room. I have misplaced our list and was wondering if anyone has a link or copy they could send me?

Alternatively does anyone know if any on the list are in Korat?

Im looking to apply for a passport for the baby but would rather post it than travel to Bangkok, I need the birth certificate translated by someone they will accept. Any ideas welcome!

I have seen a list in the waiting room at the consulate in Chiang Mai, so I think the lists are just produced locally. The UKBA advice just states:-

Quote:

If you send us a document that is not in English or Welsh, it must be accompanied by a full translation that can be independently verified by us. Each translated document must contain:

  • confirmation from the translator that it is an accurate translation of the original document;
  • the date of the translation;
  • the translator's full name and signature; and
  • the translator's contact details.

If you do not submit translations of all supporting documents, this may result in your application being delayed or refused.

So, any translation conforming with the above requirements would be acceptable. You may also require the translation to approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
