thairookie
As c-owner of several condo units I have been attending a couple of my Condos' AGMs lately. I'm wondering if the immigration laws permit a foreigner on TR to sit on the Committee on the Condo Management Committee. It's definitely without salary, and meetings are likely to be once every fortnight. Does that amount to "work" under current Immigration laws ? Do I need a work permit ? mahjongguy
It's okay to be on the committee but you should not become the Juristic Person nor the Treasurer. Also, a committee member is often tempted to do certain tasks just to see them get done but there is the risk of someone accusing you of working. That may seem unlikely to you now but committee involvement can be frustrating, there can be feuds and animosity, and sometimes people lash out. Theo007
I agree with the above. I am the Vice Chairperson of my condo committee. A friend said that it was only right that they put me in charge of vice !
