It's been officially announced that the junta has decided in accordance with the "return happiness to the people" campaign, Monday August 11 2014 will be a "special public holiday" so that people can enjoy an extended long weekend 9-10-11-12 August.

Anyone should extend their whatever well in advanced of this 4 days break.

Thanks for the update Mole - but please let the people in power know that I am not bluddy happy if I have to give my staff another day off! facepalm.gif

Friday (July 11) and Monday (July 14th) are government holidays and immigration will be closed and I assume Thai embassy/consulates.

I can't stand it anymore!

All these holidays!

Driving me nuts!

At least in England I can get sozzled all the time.

Here, half the time when I get another holiday day, the bars are closed.

And now it's extra holiday days - free!

Feelgood days!

Dunno coming or going!

ARGH!

R

Do all the bars normally close on Samui during these holidays ??

I was hoping to get off the boat tomorrow night for a few drinks :(

Surely there must be a few in Chaweng ignoring the rules !!

Cheers Jimmy

Plus don't forget that the sale of alcohol will be banned on Friday and Saturday as they are two important Buddhist holidays.

The booze ban will be effective for 48 hours from 12:01am on Friday to midnight on Saturday.

Better nip out to 7-11 for your prune juice before midday.

In particular Im interested in the Immigration Office and the Transport Office.

Only the red letter days are holidays here in Thailand, so everything should be "business as usual"....

I am not sure about New Years Day, I must stop at a Bank and get a new calendar facepalm.gif

..... what an exciting way to spend Christmas! tongue.png

I'd imagine Samui immigration will be a nightmare wait on Thursday!

It has just been announced that the junta has decided to return happiness to the people yet again by declaring 4th May as a public holiday.

This will create an extended long weekend 5 holidays from Friday 1st May to Tuesday 5th May.

Next working day will be Wednesday 6th May.
