Best Place / Price For Converter To Run 110V Appliances On 220V 1500-3000 Watt

Featured Replies

Hi

is there a good place to buy a voltage converter to run 110v USA appliances on Thai 220v ?

do any of them change up to the USA 60 hertz ??

I can live with the speed loss (16%) that goes with converting voltage but still having Thai 50 hertz.

And I am sure you ask WHY , well I have lots of extra stuff, good quality in the USA , blenders , food processors etc and why not use them in Thailand......

I have some small wall converters but they are only 750 watt , the blender needs 1200W

Most of these appliances will only be used for 10-20 minutes at a time I would think,

Thanks for you ideas , as long as its not leave them at home and buy new in Thailand smile.png

I don't know the specs on wattage but they have 110v <> 220v converters that weigh as much as a 12V car battery.

As above ^^^ our local HomePro also have some meaty converters.

You will need to ensure that it's not possible for someone (even yourself) to accidentally plug a 110V appliance into a 220V outlet (with the associated bang) as the Thai outlets are identical to US.

You can get units that change the frequency, but they are not cheap, far more economical to buy a local appliance.
