Bailed British Expat Caught Attacking a 13 Year old Boy

PATTAYA: -- A British Businessman spent the night in Sattahip Police station, after reporting another Englishman for assault on a 13 year old schoolboy.

Property developer Lee Booty told 103 FM that he had, reported Andrew John Tracey to Police, after finding him attacking the schoolboy in a field near Bang Saray, where Mr. Booty is working on a new development.

Local Police were initially called to the scene by Mr. Booty’s wife as they spotted Tracey in a remote field beating the boy and dragging him with what appeared to be a belt around his neck

Andrew Tracey, a 66 year old from Wickford in Essex, is already on bail and expected to face charges from February this year, when he was arrested on suspicion of committing obscenities with underage boys.

In February this year, Andrew John Tracey was the subject of a long term police investigation when he was finally arrested in his Bang Saray Home on charges of picking up young boys in shopping areas and persuading them to accompany him for immoral purposes. Yet he was obviously allowed to pay bail and be released back into the community.

This weekend, reports have come directly to 103 Fm that, according to other local children, he offered to give them either phone credit or a phone, in order that he could arrange to meet them without their parents knowing.

Bang Saray Police were called to the scene when Englishman, Lee Booty, spotted him in a field close to a development site and told his wife to call the authorities. [read more...]

Looks like Michael Caine. Seriously though the headline seems all wrong as it reads that the man who reported the incident spent the night in jail. " A businessman spent the night in jail having been reported by ... " ?

he spent the night at the station to see exactly what would happen to Tracey.

Yes a very misleading headline, more slapdash journalism just to get the story out.

Agree, poor journalism, very misleading heading etc., plus why post any let alone two, basically identical pictures, of the man who reported it to the police. If any picture was warranted it would be a picture of the guy on bail who reportedly was beating the 13 yr old boy.

Definitely as it does a great disservice to the public minded citizen who made the report since we tend to associate photos with those of the criminal.

It might be better if the OP had identified the man in the picture as the "good guy" Mr Lee Booty, as opposed to the "bad guy" Andrew JohnTracey.

Are you sure.

Think photo is Andrew John Tracey. Story running on a site Thaivisa does not like mentioned also shows very similar pic as well as pic of Lee Booty.

I assume the picture is of Mr Booty? Combined with the headline people may see the guy in the picture and if they encounter him may pass completely the wrong judgement on him. If that is indeed Mr Booty, I would be more than a little pissed off at the way the newspaper has presented this story.

My god, he even gives Pedophiles a bad name! Mostly they don't beat boys or drag them around...

IF he is convicted he deserves the harshest of punishment allowed by law... however, let's wait and see, as it's entirely possible (I didn't say likely) that he's innocent.

We can't allow people to tried by media.

Terrible idea to print the man's photo without identifying him clearly as the the witness rather than the perp. Look how much confusion it's caused here already, and we're able to correct each other. Ridiculous.

The other thing that occurs to me is this: In other cases, when the perp is caught, he/she is usually paraded in front of cameras and the names of the police involved (and their supervisors) are usually given. In this case, it's all very vague. He gets moved to another station and then is unbelievably bailed again. But, of course, in this case the police all remain anonymous. It reeks.

And how the hell does someone get bail again after presumably violating his bail conditions in the first place??? ....

Very bad reporting and very bad of TV to post it without clarification of who is in the photo.

Reporting the name and photo of the guy that complained just means less people will be minded to do the same next time for fear of reprisals. It's quite odd.

How about photos etc of the bad guy.

Before trail the boys family gets a settlement and withdraws complaint. Others perhaps ammend previous statements (enevelope in hand) , Low life returns to low living, and this cycle repeats again.

It will be real news if this semi-human is brought to legal justice.

Did not much of importance happen to him! blink.png

"The 66 year old from Wickford in Essex fled the scene in a car registered to his neighbor and was later taken into custody at his home.

Sattahip Police are reported to have taken over the case from the local police and he was moved to their main headquarters where he was fingerprinted, photographed and made a statement before …being released again on bail for an undisclosed sum thought to be a considerable amount of money."

He is, possibly already on the lookout for Mr.Booty -who reported him to police- and for new boys! bah.gif
