Double Entry Tourist Visa, Please Help.

Featured Replies

Please help me clarify for Double entry Tourist Visa (for American tourist)

1. We can stay 60 days for the first entry, do I understand correctly? (I will go to Vietnam after staying in Thailand 45-50 days and come back again)

2. Do I need to apply for re-entry permit before leaving to Vietnam?

3. For the second entry I can stay another 60 days?

4. I have to pay USD.80 for Double entry Tourist Visa to Thai Embassy D.C.?

Thanks to all replies.

1. Yes, you will be given a 60 day stay.

2. No

3. Yes

4. That sounds about right.

Don't forget, there are Honorary Consulates scattered around the U.S. it is not necesary to use D.C. Portland, OR, and Houston, TX have good reputations for being helpful.

Also, each 60 day entry can be extended for 30 days if needed, fee is 1900 Baht, can be done at an immigration office in Thailand.

Thank you for very helpful information.

1. On each entry you will be given 60 days. Each entry can be extended for 30 days at immigration for 1900 baht. Remember, each entry must be used before the "must enter by" date on the VISA. You should apply for the visa just before you travel as it's validity, either 3 months or 6 months will be from the date of issue. You should ask for a visa that is valid for 6 months to cover yourself.

2. You do not need a reentry permit if you intend to use the second entry owhen you come back to Thailand. But, it depends on your plans and hgow long you intend to stay in Vietnam. If it's just a short time, you might want to get a reentry permit which will give you permission to stay until your current permission expires and then you could extend for 30 days to get maximum usage of the visa.

3. Yes, 60 + 30!

4. The Honorary Consulate in Portland is very friendly and everything can be done via courier. Here's their info: Visa application porcedures, Portland Oregon.doc

Tourist visas in the US cost $40 per entry at all locations.

How long will you remain in Thailand when you return from Vietnam?

If 30 days or less, and you will be flying back, you don't need the 2nd tourist visa.

Hi TerryLH, after coming back from Vietnam we'll stay in Thailand around one and half months more. We think we'll get double entry.

Thanks for the answer.
