Quick Report On A Single-Entry Tourist Visa In Kuala-Lumpur

Featured Replies

Nothing unusual happened to me so just skip this one if you have read previous reports on getting tourist visa in KL or have actually done it. The latest report is almost six months old so I am writing this one.

Me and my boyfriend went to KL in the beginning of April, spent there four days (actually three or even two would be enough). Stayed in the Hotel 1915 (about 35 US dollars per night, clean, 4 kilometres from the embassy).

Application process was really fast, we were in and out of the embassy in 12 minutes. The lady who was reviewing our documents barely looked at the tickets, didn't ask for any proof of funds etc. She was really surprised when my boyfriend gave her our rent agreement (whereas in Phnom Penh we were specifically asked for it). She gave us our tickets back immediately and kept only passports and copies of passports. Visas were ready the next day.

There are no places near the embassy where you could have your photos taken, no copy machine or printer so make sure that you have all your documents ready before you go to the embassy. There may be something in the shopping centre near LRT station Ampang Park but better safe than sorry.

That's it. Good luck!
