Can I Plot Coordinates In Germany Whilst In Thailand

Featured Replies

Guys

I have a Garmin navi 3770. My friend has lent me his chip with a map of Germany. The chip is in and I can see it in My Maps

The map is called CN Europe NT Also will the unit select this map automatically whilst in Germany

thanks

The short answer is YES. Any maps loaded into the the Garmin GPS will display when selected and the GPS is located in that geographic region.

Thanks ...I actually meant when my Garmin was in Thailand ... found that I couldn't do it.

Anyway now in Germany and it's working ............

What I did find today is that I entered coordinates and it showed the place exactly (a hotel) but no map ie no roads and it said something like can't calculate. Anyway on the way there and when I got there on the VIEW MAP the roads showed all the time.

Using Where Am I it saved the location and now when I find it in Favorites it will take me there.

I do use a Garmin with a Thai Roadmap and the complete European Roadmap.

It is advised to turn off the map that you won't be using. Don't know why, but that's what the Garmin shop said.

Plotting coordinates should be possible: "Where to?" -> "Scroll down the menu" -> "Coordinates"

Take care that you set the correct coordinates-format.

In Thailand I always work with coordinates and it works perfectly.

No, the German map was working.

But just sussed it. When I entered the N coordinates they were 48 point something so just typed in 48883619 and it went to 48.883619 BUT when I typed in the E coordinates ... I wanted 10 point something ... I just typed in 10183878 and expected 10.183878 BUT I now see that it went to 101.83878 ... I needed to type in 010183878 to get 010.83878.

Careless to check carefully ...was tired after an 11 hour overnight flight.

Thanks anyway guys.
