Thai Cheque Valid For How Long ?

Featured Replies

Anybody know how long thai cheque's are valid for, before you can't bank them ? In the UK normally 6 months....

Most places in the world its 6 months so don't see why Thailand would be any different. You know in all my years of coming here I have never received a cheque for anything. It is a cash society. Recently I traded my old car in on a new one. The used car dept. of the Nissan dealer paid me several hundred thousand bahts cash for the trade in. Then I had to take the cash to the new car department as down payment on the new car. All of this same building, same dealer.

It was a small refund from BUPA, sent in the post to an old address.........I agree, mostly Thailand still operates a cash society. In Kasikorn in Central yesterday bank clerk inferred 6 months was the norm.
