Can anyone say w/ any certainty that one mfg makes a phone easier to gain signal than another or any model series over another? i have a friend who uses phone in very rural areas.

How about antenna - is it fashion or real?

If he usues a car then install a handsfree with external antenna , or in a house roof antenna 900Mhz if he has a phone with antenna outlet there is also connections that works with inductive transmisions (Nokia) But the best is to install a Nokia 6080 6 watt power instead of 2 max on cellphone.
