It always is banned the night before an election, but some places take no notice.

Hi Totster, Remember all those recent threads about "what do you do all day up north" and "are all Isaan farangs paupers and married to prostitutes". Well on Sunday I suggest we "up Norf" will be drinking a few beers, whilst the "southern softies" in Pattaya Phuket and BKK will be suffering the DT's. :o

I think that is all I need to know to delay the trip to the following weekend :o

Appreciate the info!

Of course, in some sub sois, business as usually. But the bigger places (like Cowboy, Nana, Patpong and open air beerhouses etc) are def. warned and checked by the BiB.

A sensible choice Ted, of course there is booze to be had but having to look for it is no fun, and there is a definite mood change in the air.

My thoughts entirely theBear. I was there for the election in February last year and could sense the mood change. Its not that having a drink is the only reason I'm interested in Thailand, but if you're just popping over there for the weekend (live in Singapore) you don't want to be told which bars you can drink / find alcohol in.

I'll save weekends like that for Saudi!

German Brewhouse Suk Soi 11 always serves beer! Not a small place either.

Wow, I hadn't considered a ban on alcohal!

Guess, I will leave for Buriram tomorrow instead of Saturday, that way I can buy a case of beer to tide me over until Monday.......

Thanks for the info.
