PHUKET: Two gun-stashing drug dealers were scooped up on Friday in the wake of a drug bust that netted a Swedish national in Karon last month.

Hasachai Khaokhem and Suvimon Chaikhun were arrested on Friday when police recognized them from a description given last month by drug dealer Nattharin Dansathaporn, 29.

Mr Nattharin was found based on information supplied by dealer Rungruang Kwanthong, 37, who had in turn been fingered by Swede Jen Peter, 48, and Kwanpana Thani, 29, who were arrested on drugs charges on May 8 (story here).

Police officers on a routine patrol in Karon stopped Mr Hasachai and Ms Suvimon and searched their motorbike. After finding 1.82grams of ya ice (crystal methamphetamine) under the seat, police accompanied the pair to their room at Patok Soi 1 and discovered three guns and ammunition, said Karon Police Deputy Superintendent Sophon Borirak.

Mr Hasachai confessed that he had purchased the drugs from a friend who lives in Rawai to sell to tourists in the Karon area, Lt Col Sophon said.

Mr Hasachai and Ms Suvimon have been charged with possession of a category 1 drug with intent to sell and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

During police questioning Mr Hasachai identified the man who sold him the drugs. Police declined to name the dealer, who is allegedly operating in Rawai.

Looks like this guy was selling more than just drugs.

Not only is he a drug dealer, but it appears he's an ams dealer as well.

It's a good thing he, and the guns, are off the street.

He has three guns, that makes him an arms dealer? What does that make the average American?

So, maybe you can tell me what wild animals are in Thailand that you can hunt, in the jungle????

Sure, America has a gun culture, but there are also genuine hunters in America.

Where can guns like this be used on Phuket????

They are "For Sale" - simple as that.

Sure, the guns and drugs may be thrown back in play, so might these offenders - now used as informants, for "bail" or for a "lesser sentence" or for no gaol at all.

We all know that the corrupt police and Court system on Phuket are an incentive for criminals to come here. In my opinion, that's why crime has increased here in recent times.

I rule NOTHING out from anyone, or anything, on Phuket - the place is just so corrupt - anything is possible.

Awesome, until you are looking down the barrel of one and seeing your life just about to be taken from you.

Have a look at the recent gold shop robbery CCTV video where a guy was shot dead. That's how quick it happens, and only for money.
