webfact
Vice Govt Spokesman Disagrees With Redshirts' Actions At LamphunBANGKOK: -- The vice spokesman of the government, Mr. Pakdiharn Himatongkum, said the Redshirts had gone too far when their supporters staged a protest near the venue of Democrat Party′s rally in Lamphun province on Saturday (8 June).Democrat Party supporters at the rally complained of fireworks and other projectiles fired by slingshots from direction of the rowdy Redshirts crowds, and Mr. Abhisit Vejjajeeva, the chairman of the Democrats, publicly criticized the Redshirts about this.Nonetheless, Mr. Pakdiharn said that Mr. Abhisit should also ask himself why there were people acting violently against him "in a manner as one who lost his patience".The vice spokesman offered an answer himself, saying that the Redshirts in Lamphun province are tired Mr Abhisit′s "lies" and "distorted facts" he had spoken at the rally.Meanwhile, Mr. Sombat Boonngam-anong, leader of Red Sunday group which is a relatively progressive wing of the Redshirts mass, voiced his dissatisfaction with the Lamphun Redshirts on his Facebook, saying that the Redshirts had no legitimacy to disrupt rival groups′ rallies.Full story: http://www.khaosod.co.th/en/view_newsonline.php?newsid=TVRNM01EazBNak0zT0E9PQ-- KHAOSOD English 2013-06-12
Popular Post NongKhaiKid
Lamphun red shirts are quite clear in their message that only PTPs lies and distorted facts are truthful and acceptable. I wonder though with some leaders voicing concern about some of their followers attitudes and tactics are they beginning to worry that the monster they helped create is getting out of control and at any time could turn on them ?

Popular Post Noistar
So, it's alright for Reds to perform threatening and violent actions because they don't like what Abhisit SAYS, but it's not ok for anti-government protestors to peacefully protest about what the Government DOES! The 'rebuke' is qualified by almost saying the Democrats bring it on themselves while they take advantage of their (current) freedom of speech. Good job the red leaders are there to explain to the Red Shirts that Abhisit lies and distorts facts. Sorry, when I said 'explain to' I meant 'tell'.
iancnx
CCTV, followed by arrests of the perpetrators .... Now there's a thought. Such technology is very portable these days and inexpensive, and if strategically placed could provide an excellent deterrent at similar gatherings in the future. Better to do something to support the democratic process than to let the thugs repeat similar acts, unchecked, week in and week out. Just a thought.

Noistar
Forget CCTV or anything grown-up. Put them back in kindergarten. I ought to be immune, but it never ceases to amaze me how the infantile, juvenile leaders of this country, seem unable to tolerate criticism. Slag off Abhisit, but at least he knew that the future for Thailand was for everyone to pull together for the benefit of Thailand. That is without being obliged to force everyone to do so. I prefer the tone of this article to the dictatorial foot-stamping of the current government playground gang of bullies: http://www.thaiembassy.sg/friends-of-thailand/p/gist-of-prime-minister-abhisit-vejjajivas-address-on-the-governments Thailand is not ready for adult behaviour and the Reds merely perpetuate that situation.
gl555
What do you expect from the red shirts? Peaceful demonstrations? Come on! They're a bunch of uneducated and unwashed thugs. We're lucky they hurt no one this time. And this spokeman's idiot statement is typical of the PTP government. Rather then look inside and reflect why you and your supporters suck, you blame others once again to deflect attention. Bloody bunch of idiots! I have stronger adjectives but can't use them here.
Popular Post robblok
It shows what most people here know that in general red shirts and PTP supporters are thugs and lower educated people. It never fails to amaze me that there are still foreigners supporting them. Then again they might be part of that unit that posts good things about the king. Maybe there is a same unit financed by Taksin to put positive news on the Internet about him and then there might be some misguided people even among the foreigners really believing them. Not that I think that all democrats are clean, they certainly are not but i believe they are bit less corrupt then the ruling party. Corruption has only increased. Guess what party was mostly in power. It would be nice if there ever came a new party that really stood against corruption. But i guess without money or return on investment (stealing once your in power) there are not enough people able (you need the money in the first hand) or willing to do it.

Bellweather
The red shirts should not be blamed, They were only following orders from their leader. Maybe they were anticipating they were doing what was wanted or would please without direct instruction which of course makes it easier for those more senior to deny involvement and makes groups like this very dangerous as they strive to get approval. Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app Hard for an outsider to believe that the red shirts could cause all the trouble they did in 2010 so they could have the freedom to disrupt rallies that did not support them. In this case they did it ibn a way that nor only made a lot of noise to disturb the speaker but they made ot dangerous for them by firing fire works and other projectiles at them/ Just a scaled down 2010 Bangkok. The red shirts still carry on like a bunch of uneducated drunken goons for hire. Doesn't say much for Thailand politics.

Yep, easy, just get the ear medicine man on the job, he can instantly and definitely identify yellow shirt folks etc., even though their faces might be covered or the colour of their clothes adjusted Easy for the ear medicine man, and sure he'll have it all solved within 90 days. Nickymaster
This proofs again that these red thugs have no idea what democracy means. They only know the red version of democracy. The version Jatuporn and Nathawut (oh yes we shouldn't forget those communists Thida and Weng) uses to brainwash them.

rubl
Foot in Mouth decease is common amongst politicians, worldwide even. What a mentality, even if the reds are wrong they are actually right. How can anyone talk about reconciliation with people like this around ? It seems it will take the Democrats to accept blame for everything and accept reconciliation as dictated totally by PTP. Maybe they should throw in a one party state for good measure. phantomfiddler
Totally typical behaviour of the redshirt thugs. When it promised to give every village in Thailand 1 million baht for their vote, it was obvious that bad times were to come. This country is doomed to dischord until it goes away. This carry-on all over the North & Northeast begs the question: how can elections here have credibility when the opposition are intimidated wherever they go?

A party which rules by democratic means, observing parliamentary procedure OR a party which wins the highest number of votes then ignores the democratic procedure. I won't wait for the red apologists to answer that - takes too much thought. Like the Red Shirts themselves, just wait for someone to tell you the answer.

Popular Post GentlemanJim
So Abhisit must question himself as to why he can not attend a Dem political gathering without fireworks and sling shots being fired (a direct hit to the head with a steel nut potentially fatal!) by the reds, yet the Government are considering stopping anti government protestors who do not protest violently but simply protest silently wearing....a mask. Aaaah Ok got it now!
