I just applied for my non-imm B 1 year extension. In my passport is a new stamp stating that my "Application for extension of stay is under consideration...". It also states to, "contact temporary permit section on 12 July in person." My existing 90 day non-imm B visa has been temporarily extended a month for this activity.

The issue I now face is that I must travel, for business, to Germany and will leave on 4 July and return on 25 July.

I know I can get a re-entry permit, but as that does not extend the extended expiration date, I don't think it will work for me.

Anyone have a similar issue? Is there a solution... other than not travel? Thanks.

Unless you can obtain extension and re-entry permit prior to July 4 departure you will need to obtain a new non immigrant B visa during your trip and return using that and then 60-90 days later apply for extension of stay again. Explain your situation to immigration and hope for the best - but be prepared to write this attempt off.

Thanks. That's what I had thought. On the positive side, perhaps the consulate in Frankfurt will give me a one-year B visa so I won't need to do an extension.
